In the last two years, the whole world has been dealing with a corona virus pandemic that has affected all of our lives. Some more, some less. However, a large number of us have had to deal with situations where we have found ourselves on forced “leave” or outright lost our jobs. Just like me. Due to lack of work and cost cutting, I was made redundant and had to decide what to do next. Since I make my living in marketing and wanted to continue doing it, I decided to work on my own
One of the advantages of working on an I.T.O. is undoubtedly the possibility to work at a time I determine and also at any location. So my homeoffice became my living room, garden and also the meeting rooms of the companies I started working with. Since I basically only need a laptop to do my work, moving between locations was no problem. However, as the number of tasks and time spent at the computer increased, I began to look into purchasing an additional monitor. The main reason was so that I could have multiple windows open at the same time and not have to constantly switch between them.
Of course, I was automatically looking for a desktop fixed monitor. It didn’t even occur to me that there might be such a thing as a portable display that I could carry around and connect to my computer, whether I was sitting in my office at home or at a client’s place. I figured I’d just get a monitor to use for working from home and make do with my laptop display in other places. So, when a friend showed me the MISURA monitors I was excited because that’s exactly what I would need. Plus it wasn’t just one monitor, but two. So I asked him if he would lend it to me for a few days to make sure the device would meet all my requirements
I was immediately impressed that the monitors could be stored in a case and put in a backpack just like my laptop. After all, travelling with a box would not be very pleasant. Plus, they are lightweight so you don’t have to worry about ruining your back when carrying them. At home, I took the monitors out and tried connecting them to my computer. By having a new MacBook Air that has a USB-C port, all I had to do was connect the screens with the two included power cables and one USB-C cable and everything worked immediately without issue. I like that each screen can be connected separately, as I don’t always need both additional screens. So I leave one screen folded down and flip the other one up and use it
The screens aren’t super big, like we’re probably used to with fixed monitors, but that’s understandable. Big monitors wouldn’t be the best solution for travel. For my work, however, their size is sufficient, even though I prepare all sorts of graphics quite often. The monitors have good resolution and the display of the images is really good
As I wrote above, the ability to be able to work on multiple screens simultaneously was essential for me. And MISURA monitors fulfil this 100%. Being able to view the assignment table on one monitor and comfortably create on the other has made my work very efficient. Everything goes faster all at once. In addition, I enjoy the ability to rotate the screen. This way I can show my clients my work straight away, without having to crowd around each other. The client sits across from me and sees everything I need to show him. I mean, he can’t see what I don’t want to show him
Last but not least, it’s great that I can really take the screens anywhere. There are places where I don’t want to, or can’t, set up my office. Like a coffee shop or a coworking center. But with MISURA, all I really need is a table and chair and the screens, which I can connect to my laptop in minutes. At first glance, the monitors might attract attention from others, which you might not always want, but once you get used to using them, you won’t care. The important thing is that you’ll be a lot more comfortable working than without them.
